About Atlantic City
Transportation in Atlantic City
Several domestic airlines fly to Atlantic City, mainly connecting to Detroit, Cleveland, Philadelphia, New York and several cities in Florida. Just an hour's train journey can get you to Philadelphia, which has an international airport with direct flights to and from Europe, the Caribbean and Canada. Bus services shuttle from the terminal on Arctic Ave to New York, though many of the casinos run their own services to the Big Apple that represent better value. If you're making for Philadelphia, there are several affordable tickets, including the Philadelphia Airport Shuttle that can get you straight to the airport. If you're driving to Atlantic City, you'll need to be on the Garden State Parkway and jump off at exit 38. The Atlantic City Expressway is a direct route between Philadelphia and Atlantic City.

New Jersey Transit buses service Atlantic City and its surrounding suburbs, while passenger Jitneys (mini-buses) carry casino-goers to and from literally every corner of Atlantic City 24 hours a day. Blue trams run continuously up and down the Boardwalk. For a taste of times gone by, two-seat wicker rolling chairs (said to be romantic) can be hired for a trundle along the Boardwalk. The chairs are pushed from behind by hired guides, rather like wheelchairs.
